The waterfalls at Polylimnio
The waterfalls at Polylimnio, not far from Kalamata, prove that the Messinian land can also boast of its rich natural environment. A shocking landscape with flowing waters, nature in its splendor and absolute silence, is one of the most charming spots in the prefecture, which is worth discovering.
The beautiful changes of the landscape here keep the interest truly undiminished, offering unique images and an extraordinary experience of living in the majesty of nature.
In essence, the dreamlike Polylimnio is a wonderful location with a paradisiacal setting that makes it seem almost fake, and has led many to describe it as the “blue lake” of Messinia. The scenery here looks like something out of a painting with the dominant element being the water element in various forms – lakes and waterfalls – and of course the lush green and wild nature.
From above, the imposing rocks “supervise” and leave the waters fall to the surface from a great height. In the background, the generous and green nature of Messinia. And the water, cold and crystal clear, is an alternative option for bathing (depending on the season and endurance) away from the sea.
