Municipal Conservatory
It has been operating since 1985 and is housed in a traditional 19th-century building, located south of the Castle. The space is specially designed and fully equipped to meet the needs of a modern conservatory. It features 18 rooms for piano, violin, wind instruments, percussion, guitar, vocal training for both opera and dramatic arts, as well as a concert hall. Each year, it serves over 500 students. The Municipal Conservatory is actively involved in educational activities, offering seminars, lectures, concerts, and workshops aimed both at the general public and its students, with a focus on various music genres. In the concert hall, there is a “Cultural Café” where renowned artists from across the country and abroad present their work in a cozy setting, free from the formalities typical of large classical concert venues. Additionally, it organizes student performances and a variety of music events throughout the city every year. Today, it operates under the auspices of the Municipal Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Kalamata, “FARIS.”
