The Derescu Winery was founded in the year 1994 with its headquarters in Floka, Gargaliani Municipality, near the historic Pylos in southwestern Messinia. The privately owned vineyards of the Deresco Estate are located in the traditional viticultural zone of Messinia. The purpose of the Winery is to utilize the vineyards of the Deresco family estate for the production of quality bottled wine and at the same time highlight the special characteristics of the vineyards of the wider area in the production of quality local wines.

The experience begins with the welcome of Theodoros Derescos, followed by the description of the guided tours and the supervision of the estate. Then we walk for about 45 minutes between and around the vineyards so you can learn valuable information. This is followed by a 15-minute guided tour of the building where the production and winemaking line is located, complete with oak barrels, stainless steel fermentation cylinders and more.
Now is the time to sit in the estate’s special indoor or outdoor wine tasting area for approximately 90 minutes. They are always accompanied by cold dishes, local products of high nutritional value. In the outdoor area you sat under the large tree overlooking the vineyards, while there is a landscaped and enclosed indoor area with a 12-seat monastery-style oak table!

At a distance of 10 km from the winery of the Derescu family, on the road to Pylos are the palaces of Nestor. They date back to the 13th century BC and are considered one of the most important centers of the Mycenaean civilization.
15 minutes from the Estate is the famous Voidokilia, Gialova and Costa Navarino. The nearest beach is Lagouvardos, 12 minutes away, while the town of Gargalianoi is 5 minutes away from Derescus Estate.
